The Magic of Reading, the Power of Discovering Ourselves / Magia Czytania, Siła Wzajemnego Odkrywania |

The project aims to address young people’s low interest in reading and increase the level of knowledge of their own cultural, social, historical and national identity. Taking part in the partnership activities, the students involved were able to develop knowledge of other values, cultures, peoples and mentalities and to promote the intercultural dialogue for developing active European citizenship, which respected the cultural diversity and relied on common values. To achieve this aim several activities were devised in order to attract the students towards reading, enriching their vocabulary and means of communication in order to help them to develop the identified values, eg by organizing a Reading Club under the slogan“You Read for Yourself!” The final result of the project was a multilingual dictionary, which contained words and phrases referring to literature as well as basic conversation words and phrases in partners' languages and the project language - English. It is an example of cooperation among educational institutions from different countries, with ideas about how to organise common multilingual activities. |
