National holiday and state symbols/ Nationalfeiertag und staatliche Symbole

http://www.schule.at/thema/detail/nationalfeiertag.html

In 1965, October 26 was declared an Austrian national holiday. This is based on the fact that on October 26 1955 the Federal Constitutional Law on Austria's neutrality was adopted in the National Parliament. The Constitutional Act of permanent neutrality is one (next to the Declaration of Independence of 27 April 1945 and the treaty of 15 May 1955) of the basic documents of the Second Republic.
In addition to the national holiday, the state symbols are the flag and the colors of the state, the coat of arms and the national anthem.

With this site students have the possibility to learn more about the symbols of Austrian national identity.
